Thanks kid, it really is. Serving in the Peace Corps is something I have hoped and dreamed about since I was in high school, so for it to be actually happening now and to be living it is really surreal.

Where will you go? What will you do?

Excellent question. I will be spending 27 months somewhere within the lovely country of South Africa. I will work as a School and Community Resource Specialist when I am assigned to my permanent site in country.

Yes, but what does that mean?

From what I gather, there is a lot of wiggle room under that title. What it basically translates to is that I will work within my community and with teachers and local schools to improve teaching styles and learning environments. I can teach a class if I would like, and take on other side projects as well.
